In the midst of the cool December air I met Faith and Colin at Fraser Park in the heart of downtown Trenton. As soon as they stepped out of the car I could tell they were dressed perfectly for an intimate, festive session! Since the sun was setting at 4:30pm, we had to time it perfectly, meaning we only had about 20 minutes between the lights turning on and complete sunset. Personally, I think we did amazing!
We started off with some warm up prompts walking under the lit up archway, practicing their "drunk walks" and cozying up for a kiss or two before moving along to the core of the park. Here, there was a beautifully lit evergreen sparkling with different coloured bulbs, creating the perfect backdrop for us!
At Fraser Park there are four small branches of the walkway, and it is completely covered in festive decorations around the holidays, one of the sections had a cute, musical Christmas train so we decided to snap a few photos here and I'm so glad we did. Although the music coming from the train was quite loud, Faith and Colin adjusted where they were standing to still get a few shots and it turned out to be one of my favourites!
When I had originally spoke to Faith about the model call she said that they would absolutely love to do it, especially at this location. I found out that Fraser Park is where Colin had proposed to her and I immediately knew I wanted to incorporate that into this session! She mentioned that they were standing infront of the nativity scene during the proposal, so we captured some sweet, intimate images in the same spot and they turned out beautifully.
After we looped around the walkway and filled up my shot list, we took a few other photos and headed our separate ways. Faith was an old childhood friend, and although brief, it is always nice to connect with those from the past!
